Linear scleroderma is an auto-immune disorder characterized by a line of thickened skin which can affect the bones and muscles underneath it, causing the bones to be weaker and more susceptible to bone breaks and fractures. Different types of scleroderma can occur on different parts of the body. Most common for of linear scleroderma occurs in the arms, legs, or forehead, and sometimes the face. It mostly affects young children.
